Oliver Reilly, a longtime very distinguished member and fomer President of Fermoy Toastmasters, known for his warmth, kindness insight and wry humour, pictured some years ago at a club meeting at the Grand Hotel, Fermoy. Oliver very bravely overcame ill-health to return to membership and to assuming the Presidential chain of office with success and distinction. He once remarked in the course of a topics session that years ago when there was only one televiison hannel in Ireland, everybody watched: now when there are hundreds to choose from, no one watches any any of them. At the worst of the post 2008 financial crisis, he said in reply to another topic that everyone gets worried when they hear the NASDAC is down, even though no one rightly knows what it is! A flavour of liver’s brilliant style so uniquely his own. (Date of issue of this picture:- October 18th 2015).
